The Dubrovnik International Airport is well connected to many major cities of the world, either directly or by the international airports in Zagreb and Split.

Regular bus service by Atlas buses runs from the airport to the central bus station - Gruž. Buses depart after each scheduled flight arrival, and the ticket costs 35kn (or €5). the distance is approximately a 40 min drive.

Buses heading for the airport start from the Central bus station 90 minutes before scheduled Croatia Airlines or Austrian Airlines flight departures, and 120 minutes before scheduled departures of other airlines.

When you arrive to the central bus station – Gruž, to get to the Conference venue – University of Dubrovnik as well as the conference hotel (Lapad) local bus lines (bus no. 6 & 9) are at your disposal every 15 – 20 min.

You can also take a taxi from the airport (costing approximately €40).

Information about the visa regime between the Republic of Croatia and all other countries can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration: www.mfa.hr

The Consular Affairs Department at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration heartily welcomes all visitors / tourists visiting Croatia.

In order to get a Visa for Croatia you should contact the nearest Diplomatic Mission or Consular Office of Croatia. They will advise you further. In order to get Visa requirements overview, you need to go to the web site www.mfa.hr, where you can get necessary information in English.

Unfortunately, there is no possibility to send an individual invitation letter from our side. Instead, a joint list of all accepted participants will be sent to the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In order to speed up the procedure of getting a Visa, an accompanying letter regarding the auspices together with the list of participants who are requiring Visa will be enclosed to the Croatian embassies worldwide via Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In that way the Legal person's Letter of guarantee Form will not be needed. For that reasons, you should send us (to our contact person: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) the following data:

  • date and place of birth, nationality, passport number, place of issue and validity of travel documents
  • duration of your stay in Croatia
  • your accommodation in Croatia

The official currency in Croatia is Kuna (HRK). All major credit cards are accepted in hotels, and ATMs are available.

The climate along the Dubrovnik Region is a typical Mediterranean one. Aprils are usually warm (daytime maximum temperatures reach 25 °C, and at night drop to around 15 °C) and the Sea still remains warm for swimming.

The electricity power supply in Croatia is 220 Volt and uses a European standard plug of round 2-pin type.

The emergency and assistance services (police – fire department) are available on the number 112.

Time difference
